How to get your drivers license in Texas as an Adult
If you are 18 and older the process of getting your drivers license in Texas are relatively simple and can be in 5 steps!
1. Enroll and complete a
Texas approved 6 Hour Adult Drivers Course
2. Schedule an appointment with the DPS and pick up your learner's License. (There is no required hold period for the permit, you can take your road test the same day you receive your permit)
3. After reciving your learners license complete your Adult Impact Certificate
4. Schedule and Complete your Road Test.
5. Have your License mailed to you or pick it up at the DPS!
Receiving your license:
- If you are an American citizen we can have your license mailed to you, no DPS appointment required.
- All other residency types must schedule an appointment with DMV to pick up their license. Feel free to ask us about how to get the earliest available date.

No, You only need to pick an apointment with DPS to transfer the permit to texas. For the DPS -apple-system type, choose "change/replace DL". This option will allow you to transfer the permit to Texas.
Yes! We provide a dual control vehicle for your road test. This helps ensure you're comfortable and familiar with the car during your exam. You do have the option to bring your own car.
